While I interned at WPMT Fox 43 News Studio, I learned what it takes to produce the nightly news. I worked closely with reporters as I shadowed them out to the field to conduct interviews, gather information, film footage, for a segment that will be aired that night.
While working inside the studio I assisted the photographer by helping edit the footage filmed that day. The nights that I worked in the studio I used two news computer programs: IPUMP (used to gather breaking news across the world), and ENPS (used by the anchors to see speak).
Below are two stories that were read on the nightly air by the news anchors.
News Story #1
[TAKE VO]{***VO***} [Anchor:HEATHER] {***HEATHER***} [ReadRate:17] [Notes:PUMP] [CG :2 Line Locator\Minneapolis\Minnesota] AND THESE HUNGRY PEOPLE IN MINNESOTA ARE GOING FOR A DIFFERENT PRIZE.. BEST "SHUCK AND SWALLOW" OYSTER EATER. IT'S THE 6*TH ANNUAL SHUCK AND SWALLOW CONTEST IN MINNEAPOLIS. CONTESTANTS ARE GIVEN ENORMOUS TRAYS CONTAINING FRESHLY SHUCKED OYSTERS ON THE HALF-SHELL.. HE WILL SET THE RECORD FOR THE LONGEST GUITAR SOLO. BUT HIS TASK DOES HAVE 3* RULES . . . EVERY 8* HOURS HE GETS A 15* MINUTE BREAK, AT LEAST 3* PEOPLE MUST BE WATCHING, AND THE PERFORMANCE MUST BE RECORDED. |
